A Local Company Is Feeling The Burn Of Rising Gas Prices

 

Alabama-based Tiffin Motor Homes Inc plans to lay off nearly 100 workers due to lagging business and higher gas prices. Many businesses that deal in larger vehicles are noticing a slowing of business including Winnebago Industries and Cruise America, which rents large RV's.Gas prices are primarily to blame for the slowdown with the price roughly 27% higher this year that last year. Tim Tiffin, general Manager confirmed the report that the company plans to reduce its work force by 99 positions. The company was founded over thirty years ago in Red Bay, 45 miles douth of Florence and manufactures RV's , the most popular of which are the Allegro and Allegro Bay brands.
