Leighton Police were contacted Saturday to investigate a residence on First Street where neighbors and friends had reported a foul odor and flies, but had not seen the owner in several days. The body was located inside a manufactured home and was in such a state of decompose that the ALabama Department of Forensic Sciences had to use medical evidence to identify the body, according the Leighton Police Chief Kenny Wallace. The body was identified as that of 60 year old Terry Allen. The cause of death is still to be determined, but there were no external signs of trauma or foul play.
