James Hagood is running for mayor in Rogersville and has had trouble with someone stealing his campaign signs since the beginning of July. The Rogersville Police Department set up a hidden camera at the intersection of Thorton Terrace and Dement Street where signs had been repeatedly stolen. The sting worked and police caught Morris Lentz, who is accused of third degree theft of property. Several residents were surprised to learn the identity of the thief. The signs were stolen sometime between 2:30 am and sunrise. Since the summons was issued for Lentz, no sign thefts have been reported. Lentz has a court date set for August 14.
