A Lauderdale County man wanted for murder in the 2007 death of his sister was apprehended after a three hour chase that finally involved the canine unit to locate the man hiding in a field on Huntsville Road. Joseph Arnold Hill III of Lexington did not appear for a court date concerning a violation of ankle monitoring while he is out on bond for the murder of his sister Brenda Josetta Hill on March 17, 2007. Investigators found the Hill at a residence at the intersection of US 72 and Huntsville Road, but were unable to arrest him because he fled on foot. Chief Deputy Junior Witt said that canine units were called in from Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department and the Florence Police Department. Lauderdale county canine officer Joe Shanes and his dog located Hill hiding in a pasture just before 6pm. He is being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center.
