49 year old Debbie Kimbrough was sentenced to 20 years in prison today after pleading guilty to manslaughter for killing her husband, Howard "Sonny" Kimbrough last winter. Kimbrough was originally charged with murder for killing her 63 year old husband while he slept at their home in the Barton community December 13. Disctrict Attorney Bryce Graham Jr. said that the plea agreement was offered on behalf of Howard Kimbrough's family. Kimbrough and her defense attorney Tim Case are pleased with the agreement, as she would have been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole otherwise. The 20 year sentence that was handed down by Circuit Court Judge Hal Hughston is the maximum allowed for manslaughter.
