After DNA testing, forensic experts with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have determined that remains found on the property of a couple accused of killing the mother of their grandson are those of Rose Goggins. Steven and Sylvia Beersdorf are accused of killing Goggins, who was engaged to their son and was living with them while he left to train with the Tennessee National Guard at Camp Shelby, Miss. Wayne County Sheriff Ric Wilson said that this evidence not only allows Goggins' family to get some closure, it also allows his department to move into the next phase of their investigation. He said investigators would be re-interviewing witnesses and going back over different aspects of the case to be prepared for an upcoming grand jury. Those close to the case say that the Beersdorf's motive for killing Goggins was that they were afraid that Goggins was going take away their grandson and keep them from seeing him. The Beersdorfs are charged with first-degree murder and are being held in the Wayne County Jail without bail.
