A Florence woman has been sentenced after taking nearly $80,000 from a busienss over a five year span . 50 year old Kathy Henson Cook was sentenced to three years in the state penitentiary by the Lauderdale County Court. Cook had worked for Family Dental Care for 17 years, allegedly took cash payments from patients and kept the money instead of depositing it. Cook was the sole caretaker of the business' finances and would alter the books so it appeared that the bills had been paid in full. An internal audit by a local account was conducted after a co-worker became suspicious. Cook was arrested on Oct. 19th 2007 and formally indicted by Lauderdale County Grand Jury on January 25th, 2008. She will begin paying restitution to Family Dental Care from prison.
