31 year old Jake Robert Hogan, Jr of Muscle Shoals is charged with first degree robbery after he was accused of robbing Muscle Shoals Home Video on Second Street around 2:30 pm of July 11. Hogan shoved a gun into the female clerk's side and demandedg money. She emptied the register for him and after telling him that they did not have a safe, Hogan took the clerk's cell phone and threatened to kill her if she was lying about the store not having a safe. Over the course of the investigation, Hogan became a suspect, thanks to some help from witnesses who could provide the suspect's first name to the police. The victim picked Hogan out of a photo lineup and was able to positively identify him. Hogan is in the Colbert County Jail on bail totaling $10,000.
