Manager Shot During Robbery At Kangaroo Express

Florence police are searching for a man accused of shooting the manager at Kangaroo Express during a robbery. Ralph Cook, 37,  was taken to Eliza Coffee memorial Hospital where after surgery Thursday night he is currently listed in good condition. According to police the armed robbery took place around 10 a.m. at the store located at the intersection of Cox Creek Parkway and Lauderdale 47. Witnesses said that the shooter and  Cook struggled for a short time before the shots were fired. Authorities said that the shooter fled the scene in a mid-1970s model, dark blue car, possibly a Buick, with a dull finish. They added that the car has a Helping Schools license plate and that witnesses got a partial number from the license plate that included CR11. The suspect is decribed as a black male with a mustache, between 5'6" and 6 feet tall. He was wearing a red-hooded sweatshirt and white tennis shoes at the time of the robbery.
