Florence Police fired tear gas into an apartment in the Carver Homes Community on Monday morning acting on a tip about a wanted man. 32 year old Marcus Dewayne Lee is wanted for attempted murder and firing a gun into an occupied vehicle on Mobile Street last Wednesday. One man involved in the shooting has already turned himself in, but police were still searching for Lee and received a tip that he was staying in the Carver Homes Community. Monday moring, police fired several bouts of tear gas into the apartment during a six hour standoff. Lee was not at the residence. Though the tear gas caused some small inconvienences to residents standing outside including coughing and watering eyes, all building in the area were evacuated before the standoff began. Lee is still considered armed and dangerous and any information related to the whereabouts of Marcus Dewayne Lee is asked to call the Florence Police or the Shoals Area Crimestoppers.
