Police Warn Of Two Scams In The Area

Police are alerting residents of two scams that are circulating in the area. According to Florence police Lt. Randy England, one of the scams involves someone approaching a victim claiming that they've found a bag of money, usually saying it contains $50,000, and offers to split it with the victim for $1000-$2000. Engalnd said the targets are usually elderly. The second scam is a e-mail scam that claims to be a hit man and claims that he has been watching the victim and demands that the victim pay him so that he will tear up the contract.
