|
|
Police are alerting residents of two scams that are circulating in the area. According to Florence police Lt. Randy England, one of the scams involves someone approaching a victim claiming that they've found a bag of money, usually saying it contains $50,000, and offers to split it with the victim for $1000-$2000. Engalnd said the targets are usually elderly. The second scam is a e-mail scam that claims to be a hit man and claims that he has been watching the victim and demands that the victim pay him so that he will tear up the contract. England added that the e-mail scam has been reported throughout the nation and that it is nothing but a hoax. |
