Rogersville Residents Conserving Water

The weekend's forecast of rain will certainly be welcome in the Shoals, but the town of Rogersville is being urged to conserve water. Rogersville Water Department warned residents at the beginning of the month to slow down water usage, but they have now issued official restrictions after the conditions have worsened. The city of Rogersville has three wells that provide water to its residents. The city is asking residents to refrain from washing their driveways with hoses, no filling swimming pools with water, no watering gardens or lawns, and no washing vehicles. The rules are not yet mandatory, but could be enforced more strictly if the conditions continue to worsen. Rogersville Mayor Harold Chandler is asking residents to use water wisely and be conservative.
