Stolen Goods Discovered

A wanted man from Tennessee helped lead police inadverently to a treasure trove of stolen goods. Rogersville Police were serving an out-of-state warrant at a home on Highway 72 in Rogersville when they discovered many stolen items worth thousands of dollars. The Monroe County, Tennessee Sheriff's Dept. contacted the Rogersville Department because they had received a tip that a suspect, Johnny McMeans may be in the Shoals. McMeans and the stolen property were discovered at his girlfriend's residence. Sgt. BJ Tully with the Rogersville Police estimates the value at nearly half a million dollars. Among other things, police found a bass fishing boat, an RV trailer, a motor home, and a Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Tennessee native Johnny McMeans is being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center awaiting his signature of extradition.
