Tennessee Valley Authority customers could be facing the largest increase in electric rates this fall. The reason is rising fuel costs and a drought which has made it difficult to produce cheap hydroelectric power. TVA is the nations largest public utilities providing wholesale electricity to 8.8 million custormers in 7 states. TVA directors will decide later this month how much to raise the quarterly fuel adjustment charge for October 1.
