The Colbert County Drug Task Force arrests a Muscle Shoals man for cocaine trafficking

24 year old Muscle Shoals resident Jeremy Shaw will face charges of trafficking cocaine after being arrested in Tuscumbia by members of the Colbert County Drug Task Force. Shaw was the target of an ongoing investigation by the task force, Tuscumbia Police and the Alabama Beverage Control. Once the investigation produced enough information, authorities performed a traffic stop on the SUV in which Shaw was riding. Shaw tried to escape on foot, leaving a trail of marijuana, two bags containing 12 ounces of pure cocaine worth $50,000, and $1,800 in cash. He was found by authorities hiding in a residence on Shirley Drive in Tuscumbia. The driver of the SUV was questioned but no charges were filed against the people who lived in the Shirley Street residence. Shaw is being held in the Colbert County Jail on bail of $5,000.
