The National Weather Service Huntsville Office Trying New Website Design

A new experimental graphical weather page on the website for the Huntsville office of the National Weather Service begins this week. The page features illustrations on maps combined with blocks of text for an easy-to read format. The short term format will give details about the weather for the next 12-24 hours, and a long-term forecast gives an idea of how weather throughout the Eastern US will impact our area weather for the next 2-7 days. The new design is geared toward people in hurry so they can obtain their weather forecast quickly in a way that is easy to see and understand. Meteorologist Brian Carcione said that not only will the new design be easier to see, but if it is used enough, one would be able to see how the fronts and storm systems move through and affect the Shoals area. The graphical weather page will be available this week on the website for the Huntsville office of the National Weather Service at srh.noaa.gov
