The North Alabama Investigators Association is Being Revitalized
The North Alabama Investigators Association is being given a new life as local law enforcements attempt to increase interdepartmental communication. Tuscumbia Police Chief Tony Logan said that the purpose of the association is to allow investigators from all areas in Northwest Alabama to meet on a monthly or bi-monthly basis to discuss cases. Sheffield Police Chief Greg Ray mentions that as a former investigator, he understands the benefits to exchanging information with other departments and how that often opens new leads in cases. Logan said that criminals used to feel safe going into other jurisdictions, but that will no longer be effective since the departments will be working so closely together. Logan mentioned that renewing the North Alabama Investigators Association came up at the last North Alabama Chief's of Police Association meeting. The first meeting will be held Aug. 12 in Tuscumbia.
