Tornadoes Leave Path Of Destruction

Tornadoes have left a path of destruction across northwest Alabama and into Tennessee. Director of the Florence-Lauderdale Emergency Management Agency George Grabryan said that the tornado that touched down near the Oakland community left two people injured, at least two homes destroyed and six other homes damaged as well as a manufactured home on Lauderdale 112 that was flipped on its side. Rogersville had damage as well, with one home suffering heavy damage. At the Doublehead resort, one cabin was destroyed after it was knocked from its foundation and at least four others damaged by a tornado that touched down near Town Creek. In eastern Colbert, a tractor-trailer was overturned, numerous trees uprooted, and vehicles and buildings were damaged by a tornado, said Mike Melton, director of the county's Emergency Management Agency. In addition, numerous trees and power lines were knocked down. Another three homes were damaged just west of the Lawrence County, Tennessee, town of Loretto.
