Coffee Health Group Faces $8.2 Million Shortfall

Coffee Health Group is facing a deficit of $8.2 million in revenues for the 2008-09 fiscal year, which ended on Tuesday. According to interim Chief Executive Officer Jody Pigg, they had budgeted to be at $159 million in revenues, and finished at $151 million. Pigg says low patient volume, the year-to-date bad debt and charity rate are some of the reasons for the shortfall. Coffee Health Group includes Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital and ECM East in Florence and Shoals Hospital in Muscle Shoals.
