More than 120,000 taxpayers in Alabama are still waiting for about $63 million in state income tax refunds and there are more tax returns still being processed. If you haven't received your check, it should arrive soon. If the state does not get checks out by July 16th, they will have to start paying interest to taxpayers. The recession is the reason for the delay. State officials say tax collections are down by more than 8 percent.
