Drivers who use Lauderdale County Road 1 near Waterloo will need to find a new route for the next few weeks while crews replace a bridge culvert. Flooding has become a problem on a portion of that road because of the deterioration of a bridge culvert. The Lauderdale County Commission has approved a contract with Shotcrete of America to replace the existing bridge culvert with a new, longer one. The cost of the project is $96,447. Crews are expected to begin work Wednesday. When the work begins, the road will be closed for five to six weeks.
