Body of missing Leighton man is found

The body of 30 year old Justin Fuqua was found Sunday. Fuqua was last seen by someone who spotted him going into a creek near the site of a dog fighting raid near Lawrence 268 on December 13. According to Lawrence County Sheriff Gene Mitchell, Fuqua’s body was found on the shoreline at Doublehead Resort. Mitchell also stated that an autopsy will be performed and his department asked the Alabama Bureau of Investigation to investigate, because the sheriff's office was involved in the raid. Fuqua’s family members came to the scene to identify the body. It is not known at this time whether drowning was the cause of death.
